In the afternoon of November 26, Prof. Hongsheng Fang, professor, doctoral supervisor of School of Economics of Zhejiang University, and Young Changjiang Scholar of the Ministry of Education, was invited to give an academic lecture entitled How to Publish Top Chinese Journals for teachers and students of the School of Public Finance and Public Administration. Dai Lihua, vice dean of the School of Public Finance and Public Administration, presided over the lecture, and teachers Liu Hui, Xu Jianbin, He Fan and more than 30 graduate students of the Department of Finance participated in the exchange.

The lecture centered on the core question of What do you need to do to publish in Chinese top journals?, and introduced in detail six aspects, including researching top papers, collaborating with experienced scholars, researching issues that need to be paid attention to, attending academic conferences, being bold in submitting manuscripts, and treating review comments seriously.

At the beginning of the lecture, Prof. Hongsheng Fang firstly introduced the submission process and norms of three authoritative journals in the field of economics, namely China Social Science Research, Economic Research and Management World. Taking his own research experience as an example, Prof. Fang emphasized the importance of paying special attention to the submission paradigm of the journals, as well as learning the latest academic information from various channels, such as the journals' WeChat Public Accounts, and learning the cutting-edge knowledge in the field of research in a timely manner.

Secondly, it is also crucial to cooperate with scholars with rich academic experience. Scholars with relevant submission experience are often more familiar with the submission paradigm and process, and the degree of recognition is relatively high. In terms of the issues that need to be paid attention to, Prof. Fang Hongsheng reminded the participants that they should pay attention to the major realities in China, and that a good selection of topics is half of success, and that the selection of topics should focus on the major realities, and on whether the articles can answer the most important concerns of the contemporary Chinese society; It should also focus on the construction of theoretical framework, the quality and methodology of data, and ensure the quality of writing. He suggests teachers and students to read the representative literature in the three top journals, insist on daily writing practice and repeatedly scrutinize its logical grammar. Prof. Hongsheng Fang also believes that the best way to exercise is to practice, and encourages students to participate in more conferences and dare to submit more articles.

Finally, taking review comments seriously is also a top priority. Review comments need to be discussed and resolved by the supervisor and graduate students, revised repeatedly, taking each issue seriously and writing a good revision note before they can be recognized by the journal reviewers and editors.
